Slowly

Slowly
Slowly and deliberately
She walks to the car.
Deeply she breathes
Once safely sitting down
She remembers the past
When she could run easily

But no more…

Age has brought struggles
She remembers as a child
How she would run and hide
Her closet, one favourite
Now she hides within herself
She lets very few into her head
Her place is dark and lonely

Most others don’t get it…

So she struggles to stand
Taking her companion, her cane
Walks again to her inner sanctum
Where she is safe from the
Pain and neglect of the past
It is sad that she has doomed
Herself to small dark places

She only has herself to blame…

Susans Soul…
